Machine capacity

Two main types of espresso machines are multi boiler and heat exchange. The heat exchange machine gets its name for how it heats the water in the boiler. The heat exchange machine has only one steam boiler with a heat exchanger that is a copper pipe running through the boiler. The water will go through the pipe and heated by the steam boiler and then to the group head for brewing the coffee. This type of machine will best for offices, restaurants, and small cafes when making coffee is constant throughout the day. Since the heat exchange coffee machine has one boiler only making it small in size, it will not need a big place and will be great when for limited space.

While heat exchange consists only one boiler, a multi boiler coffee machine has at least two boilers. One boiler is with high temperature to make steam and one with low temperature to brewing coffee. Some machines have an individual boiler for one group head. What is good about this type of machine is that the user has total control for the water’s temperature that is for brewing. Another benefit of using this machine is that it is easier to create a more stable and consistent flavor for the brewed coffee because the temperature in the steam boiler does not affect the temperature in group heads.

The power of the machine

Before you get tempted to have a coffee machine will all good features and more functions, think about the power it will use up. The machines will need more power when they have more features and functions. Multi-boiler will require more power up to forty amperes, while heat-exchange generally will need from fifteen to twenty-five ampere.

How many groups

Choosing commercial coffee machines is also about picking how many group head that will be needed. As a guide, a coffee machine with two group heads will be suitable to make up to twenty kilograms of coffee in a week. For more than that amount of coffee, machines with three group heads are recommended. An espresso machine with three groups can manage to make coffee up to 100 kg in a week. Now, what about the espresso machine with four groups? Machine with more than three groups will need more than one barista to operate it as he will get overwhelmed. If you need that much volume that you need a four groups machine, it is wise to have two machined with two groups each. This option will be useful at times of breakdown.

Machine features

Commercial coffee machines come in many different features which you will hear often when talking about them.  More modern technology on commercial coffee machines is called auto brew technology. It will help you to make a precise ratio of brewed beverages. The espresso machine will deliver the quantity of water needed for the ratio.
